Today at GCI, our pastor Yuya focused on Matthew 7:24-27 with an example of the story of three pigs and a wolf. The parable has a lots of similarity with the story, in that if we have a strong foundation (like building a house with bricks rather than straw or wood), it will not be perturbed or shaken by anything. Similarly, the harder the foundations, the more challenges we would face. Let us put our faith in Him, and let us not avert our eyes on him. There many challenges in life like a storm or flood in our contemporary world. But with faith, you put your roots steadfastly in God, and follow His word.
One favourite part of his speech today was that it is sometimes hard to follow Jesus. Walking His way sometimes makes us feel we are going against the worldly notion. People like drinking, getting crazy, doing drugs, hurting each other, and partying etc. The existentiality of those per se might not be the ultimate evil of it, however, it is a driving factor that motivates people to call into a temptation of devil. Let us be more Christlike.
